Daily inspection work is a crucial step in ensuring that hydraulic excavators can maintain efficient operation over the long term. Especially for individual operators, performing thorough routine inspections can significantly reduce maintenance costs.
First, carefully inspect the exterior and mechanical chassis for any abnormalities after circling the machine twice. Check whether there’s grease leaking from the slewing bearing, and then examine the deceleration braking system and the bolt fasteners on the tracks—tighten any that are loose, and replace those that need it promptly. If it’s a wheeled excavator, make sure to check the tires for signs of damage and verify the stability of their air pressure as well.
Check whether the excavator bucket teeth show significant wear. It is understood that worn-out bucket teeth can dramatically increase resistance during construction, severely impacting work efficiency and accelerating the wear of equipment components.
Check the boom and cylinders for cracks or oil leaks. Inspect the battery electrolyte and ensure it does not fall below the recommended low level.
The air filter is a critical component that prevents large amounts of dusty air from entering the excavator and should be regularly inspected and cleaned.
Regularly check fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, and other fluids to see if they need to be topped up. It’s best to select the appropriate fluids according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and always keep them clean.
