1. Air Filter
The primary function of an air filter is to remove impurities from the air, ensuring that the air entering the cylinders remains clean and meets the intake requirements of each cylinder in the diesel generator.
2. Oil FilterThe oil filter is responsible for filtering the lubricant flowing through the lubrication system, with its structure illustrated in Figure 3. During engine operation, metallic debris, dust, carbon deposits and viscous sediments oxidized at high temperatures, as well as water, continuously contaminate the lubricating oil. Positioned within the engine's lubrication system, the oil filter sits upstream of the oil pump and downstream of the engine components requiring lubrication. Its primary function is to remove mechanical impurities and resinous substances from the oil, ensuring the cleanliness of the lubricant and thereby extending the service life of these critical components. An oil filter should possess excellent filtration capacity, minimal flow resistance, and a long service life.
3. Fuel FilterThe function of a fuel filter is to remove solid impurities such as iron oxide and dust contained in the fuel, preventing clogging of the fuel system (especially the fuel injectors). It reduces mechanical wear, ensures stable engine operation, and enhances overall reliability. Typically, the fuel filter is installed in series on the pipeline between the fuel pump and the inlet port of the throttle body. The fuel filter is securely mounted to the engine casing via a filter housing.
II. Maintenance PrinciplesThe operation and maintenance of diesel generator sets are essential tasks throughout the generator's operational lifecycle. The quality of these maintenance efforts directly affects the generator's reliability and service life. Different generator sets, due to their varying design concepts and usage conditions, have distinct maintenance requirements. However, whether the generators are domestically produced or imported, mechanical or electronically controlled, the following principles for operation and maintenance should generally apply.
